Editor’s note: The men’s wheelchair final was held in Rod Laver Arena to a houseful of fans. It’s interesting the guys changed into their “in competition chairs” on court. It’s no easy task getting your gear all set and comfy. We watched David Wagner start by taping his wrist and then literally using the whole roll of white sports tape to tape the racket to his hand. They played an amazingly high standard match. Dylan won. It’s his 5th AO in a row. He was also awesome the last two weeks as an on court commentator. He has a charming and engaging personality and sense of humor. Loved the crazy shades he played in. These athletes get our total respect. They are amazing and the efforts they go to re: traveling. And different chairs and equipment. Amazing sport for athletes in chairs. Not sure where Shingo lost, gotta check the draw.
