In America they’ve made a new postage stamp. It is so awesome. A Maureen Connolly Stamp. Also known as “Little MO”. Her career was cut short by a horseback riding accident.
Exciting news! The United States Postal Service announces the “Little Mo” FOREVER stamp! This historic issuance honors Maureen Connolly. Nicknamed “Little Mo,” the 5-foot-4-inch dynamo used powerful groundstrokes to become the first woman to win all four major tennis tournaments in a calendar year – the Grand Slam. The stamp features an oil-on-linen painting of the tennis star by Gregory Manchess Art. Art director Derry Noyes designed the stamp. First Day of Issue Stamp Dedication Ceremony will be on April 23 in Dallas, Texas.More details to come on the location, etc. Please click Share. Thanks so much.
