The first announcement of the 2019 Kooyong Classic draw sees Australia’s Bernard Tomic and Nick Kyrgios face-off against each other on Kooyong’s historic centre court during the event.
The two players will use the Kooyong Classic for their final tune-up for the 2019 Australian Open.
Tournament director Peter Johnston noted that “for both guys it’s their last competitive match before next week’s AO, so their focus will be on making sure their games are ready. At the same time it will be fun for the fans to watch it play out given they have never gone head-to-head before”
Tomic and Kyrgios are joined by World Number 6, Kevin Anderson and World Number 7 Marin Cilic, fellow Aussie Bernard Tomic and a host of other male and female stars at the Classic beginning next Tuesday 8th January at 11am.
The 2019 Kooyong Classic will be broadcast live and streamed online on SBS from 11 am to 4 pm on each day of the event.
Additions to the draw will be released from Monday, 7th January.
