Lindt Chocolates • And Roger Federer Extend Their Partnership • Two Of The World Finest
- Updated: December 13, 2017
Roger Federer’s scrumptious 2017 season just got even sweeter.
Long-time Federer sponsor Lindt & Sprüngli announced today it has extended the 19-time Grand Slam champion’s endorsement pact.
Federer has served as Lindt brand ambassador since 2009, starring in a series popular commercials for the chocolatier.
“I grew up with Lindt products so, as a Swiss and an enthusiastic fan of chocolate, I associate the close partnership with Lindt with wonderful childhood memories,” Federer said in a statement. “As I travel around the world, people are always asking me about Lindt and I am very proud to be part of the Lindt family.”
Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. Forbes reports the extension will pay Federer more than $20 million.
Federer confesses to a sweet tooth and has been an active candy man for Lindt, partnering for media events and charity activities.
The Swiss brought the Easter spirit—and plenty of chocolate Easter bunnies—to kids in the children’s hospital in his hometown of Basel in April.
“We are very proud to once again extend the successful partnership with our brand ambassador Roger Federer,” Ernst Tanner, Executive Chairman of the Board of Directors of Lindt & Sprüngli said in a statement. “In this very extraordinary year for him, he has shown his ability to write sport history with unwavering maximum effort and a great degree of passion. Lindt and Roger Federer both stand for the highest Swiss quality”.
