BNP Paribas Open • Indian Wells • Site Beautification Project Underway For 2018 Tennis • Wally’s Desert Turtle New Dining On Site

The Indian Wells Tennis Garden is undergoing a full-scale beautification project ahead of the 2018 BNP Paribas Open to showcase the venue in “Full Bloom,” Tournament Director Tommy Haas has announced.

Leading up to this year’s BNP Paribas Open, to be held March 5-18, 2018, a brand-new “Full Bloom” integrated marketing campaign highlights the world-class tennis players that participate in the renowned global event woven into the beautiful backdrop of the desert landscape. The Indian Wells Tennis Garden is also undergoing a series of site enhancements to make it feel even more like a Tennis Paradise. The improvements will emphasize the lush, green environment that makes the Tennis Garden truly feel like a garden in bloom.

The project will add an impressive 62 palm trees throughout the grounds, including a grove between the two main shade structures; a row in the Food Village; and a circle of trees outside of retail area. Additional floral installations, pavers, plants and greenery throughout the Tennis Garden will bring color and vibrancy to the venue, reminiscent of a garden blooming to life in the springtime.

“Year after year, we strive to continually improve and enhance the overall fan experience at the tournament,” Haas said. “This year, we are focusing on what makes our event unique – the unparalleled beauty and scenery of the Indian Wells Tennis Garden. Our team cannot wait to welcome tennis fans from around the world to Tennis Paradise and showcase the physical beauty and majesty of the venue in “Full Bloom” like never before. We believe that coupled with the extensive renovations and world-class dining amenities added prior to the 2017 event, tennis fans won’t be able to find a more enjoyable experience anywhere in the world.”

Fans will also enjoy the addition of two new fountains – one located in the middle of the new palm tree grove between the shade structures, and the other outside of the retail space. The fountains will be a great place for fans to gather and relax while taking a break from shopping, eating or watching tennis.

Inside Stadium 1, the video walls on the north and south ends of the court will be replaced and upgraded, resulting in more than double the square footage of screens to complement the action on the court. The state-of-the-art technology will allow fans to enjoy an unparalleled experience in the world’s second largest tennis stadium.

Also new for the 2018 season is local favorite Wally’s Desert Turtle, replacing Chop House in Stadium 2. Tennis fans can savor the culinary creations of Executive Chef, Pascal Lallemand, as they watch the world-class tennis played on the court. This award-winning, family owned restaurant serves contemporary California cuisine.

Editors Note: “Wally’s Desert Turtle” was “Big Bosses” favorite restaurant in the Coachella Valley.

The ambience is really fabulous and the food is better. There’s a great little private room on the left as you enter. I’m talking their main restaurant on Hwy 111.

Now setting up biz right on site by joining the BNP Paribas Open is Awesome! (LJ)

We encourage all tennis fans to buy tickets to one of the Worlds Greatest Tennis Events.
