Patch Perfect

July 29, 2010: Benjamin Becker of Germany hits a backhand agains James Blake of the United States tduring the second round of the Farmers Classic at the UCLA Tennis Center in Los Angeles,CA. Blake won 7-5,7-6.  |

Here in Los Angeles at the Farmers Classic, Xavier Malisse is handsomely outfitted in the brand Lotto from top to bottom but wait- what does that patch say on his right sleeve?

10sballs.com??

What is that all about?

Answer: When a tennis player can – he or she can pick up additional income by sticking on a patch or two that advertises for a particular company.

Xavier’s patch happens to be helping this website -10sballs.com and we can’t be more grateful!

The players know if their clothing contract allows them to attach these patches or not. They are most likely not wearing Nike. You may see a Guinot patch in France or Geico patch at Wimbledon or other such patches. It is a small advertising deal but on the right player with moderate to high visibility it does the job.

In this case- it is money well spent!

Thanks Xavier!

    Karen:

Great article. Thanks for enlightening us about 10sballs.com. Providing opportunities for lower ranked tennis players to earn additional income simply by wearing a patch is a wonderful way to help them while on tour especially during these hard economic times.
