Colors Make a Difference on the Court!

The tradition of wearing White at Wimbledon is because back in the 1800’s white was a sign of authority as well as being a protective color – it reflects the sun and keeps the body from getting to warm.  This practicality and the formality of royalty wearing white has been adapted by many tennis clubs and memberships throughout the world.

What colors do you wear on the court?

While our tennis teams wear certain colors to show unity the pros wear colors their sponsors pick for them and the top tier players have the opportunity to choose the colors and design what they will wear.  Let’s look at a few of the top players and see how their games relate to their choice of colors to wear….

Rafa in his dynamic, powerful punch of color calls out his “work-horse” positive attitude on the court. First it was his black or white “pirate” pants and now he always looks happy and vibrant in his color blocking of pink and yellow, or red and yellow or the combination of green and turquoise. Not only is he a young suave fashion leader but he is the Best in these Brights!

Federer’s clean neutrals with metallic accents also depict his straight-forward approach to the game with a unique touch of grace and glamour.  “Simplicity and magical” are perfect adjectives for his clothing as well as for his shot-making!

Venus’ creative sense of style emanates not only in her dress but in the colors she wears!  From poaching the net in Purple to bright yellow or orange- she shows us all how to “go for” our colors and stay confident with our tennis shots, too.

The bold and strong choice of colors worn by Serena shows she is extremely self – assured and fearless. She loves orange, a hot and sexy, boisterous color. Great for a woman who plays with hot determination and proud of her talents on the court.

Like these top pros. picking the colors you wear on the court can tell your opponent a lot about your personality and give a few signs about how you will play.

Much Success in the colors you choose!  Think Confidence, Powerful and Creative and then Color it UP!
