The 3rd annual Shotgun 21 takes place at the Palisades Tennis Center on July 25th at 12:30 PM for qualies and 4:00 PM for main draw. The main draw takes about 3 hours to get through 32 players.
If you have not been to it before – it is a “must play.”
All games are up to 21 with underhand serves. Men and Women from both tours, college players, celebs, ams, goofballs. Some of the best match ups. Some of the best tennis.
If you are on this email, chances are you can get a main draw berth and don’t have to play the qualies. Main draw costs $100 and there is about $15,000 in cash and prizes.
Net, net – it is probably one of the biggest paydays in tennis for the amount of time on the court. The crowd is a who’s who of movers, shakers and great people to meet in a very nice and intimate setting.
IMPORTANT – if you are on the ATP or WTA tours, in the previous years, we helped get waivers for those who were playing the week prior or the Men’s ATP event at UCLA. This year we are not doing that. So any players that would have tour or association issues, must handle them on their own and we can’t accept any liability for any fines.
Sam Querrey, Donald Young, Phillip King and a few others had issues where there was a tussle with fines from the tour.
Other than that, the event is a flat out blast!
Get me back if you want to play.
